Responsibilities
The Crisis Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the overall coordination of care for Behavioral Health patients from the Emergency Department to their final disposition at the appropriate level of care. The Crisis Supervisor will oversee the delivery of optimal, safe, quality care and regulatory compliance while providing leadership to staff as an effective resource, role model, mentor, and change agent.
- Creates and manages shift schedules to support patient flow for timely evaluations.
- Ensures that service is staffed at all times.
- Assists manager(s) with the collection of throughput data, analysis, and performance improvement plans aimed at increasing throughput.
- Assures daily reassessments occur for behavioral health observation patients in the Emergency Department.
- Completes patient assessment and provides crisis intervention services.
- Consults with on-site or on-call psychiatrist.
- Completes all documentation for patients.
- Ensures documentation is in compliance with regulatory standards through regular chart audits.
- Understands insurance verification process and assures proper insurance authorization.
- Reports any challenges or resource needs to the service administrator.
- Completes staff supervision and performance evaluations as delegated by manager.
- Conducts monthly departmental staff meetings and communicate challenges and ideas for improvement with manager(s).
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in psychology/ human service OR Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Nursing.
- 1 years experience working in crisis setting
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Licensed or Certified Social Worker (LCSW), RN, or Mental Health Screener
- Knowledge/experience related to triage, assessment, planning, and coordination of care processes for voluntary and involuntary behavioral health patients in NJ
