Responsibilities:
- The Certified Medical Assistant provides quality patient services, office communication, and information storage and retrieval services to patients and staff by performing related reception and clerical duties, assisting physicians in providing primary health care, and managing patient care.
- Assist with both front office and back office duties, including greeting patients, updating demographics, verifying insurance, collecting payments, answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, communicating with insurance carriers, handling patient requests, and maintaining inventory of medical and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Prepare lab request forms and tests, prepare exam and treatment rooms, take patients' brief history and vital signs, perform routine medical testing, injections, vaccinations, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school or GED, one year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certification through AMT, NHA, NCCT, or AAMA, BLS required.
- Preferred qualifications include previous medical assistant experience, bilingual ability, and additional certifications.
