Responsibilities
Provide assistance to Physicians, other Radiology Technicians, and Registered Nurses in the performance of more complex procedures
Coordinate the daily activities within the Interventional Radiology Department
Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with approved technique and the ALARA limits
Position the patient on the examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by the physician
Function to work independently and in a cooperative manner in teamwork oriented atmosphere within the department and hospital wide
Explain procedures to the patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation
Under the direction of a Radiologist or Vascular Surgeon, performs all Interventional procedures on all patient populations
Prepare and maintain a sterile environment by using aseptic techniques, drapes, equipment, and solutions while assisting the interventional radiologist
Practice established principles of radiation safety and protection
Demonstrate appropriate and effective use of all radiographic equipment and computer systems such as RIS, PACS, and other hospital based computer or PC systems
Utilize time productively and appropriately with respect to patient flow, room use, stocking of supplies, and clerical duties to increase department efficiency
Perform any and all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Job Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years of experience as a Radiology Technician
Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program
NJ Diagnostic Radiology licensure, ARRT and BLS certifications
Preferred Job Requirements
At least two (2) years experience in Interventional or Cath lab
