Responsibilities
- The Transporter will perform a variety of activities related to the transportation of patients, specimens, and equipment. They will greet as well as assist patients, and visitors at hospitals and clinics as directed.
- Transport patients from their rooms to various locations
- Retrieve proper equipment needed for the transport of patients
- Complete daily paperwork documenting activity
- Maintain a safe, healthy working environment
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families by listening to them and showing compassion
- Perform all other duties assigned
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Physically able to transport patients by wheelchairs, stretchers, and/or beds
- Ability to work independently utilizing a beeper
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Heavy pulling, pushing, and lifting are required (50lbs or more)
Preferred Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
