Responsibilities
The Infection Preventionist plays a vital role in preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) by limiting the spread of transmission and unprotected exposure to pathogens in order to ensure a safe environment for patients, employees, and visitors.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Medical Technology, Microbiology, or Public Health.
- 1 years’ experience in hands-on Infection Control.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC).
- Membership in APIC (Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology) within 1 year of hire.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical skills such as fractions, percentages, and rates to practical situations.
