- Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
Responsibilities
- The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the performance of clinical laboratory testing that pertains to patient care and diagnosis.
- This position performs routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.
- Will additionally participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, laboratory education, new employee training, and proficiency testing when assigned.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technician studies, or a chemical, physical or biological science associates degree.
ASCP or equivalent.
Certification must be maintained without lapse during employment.
If certification does lapse, the job will be downgraded to Medical Laboratory Technician (non-certified) until certification is reinstated.
Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.
Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Scientist within a clinical laboratory.
