- Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
Responsibilities
- The Receptionist provides a superior level of secretarial duties and reception services to the doctor, patients, and staff.
- Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Updates all patient files and makes sure documents are accurate, confidential, and compliant.
- Greets, check-in and check-out patients, and advises other medical staff of the arrival of patients.
- Assists in maintaining inventory of necessary supplies and on all instruments.
- Schedules appointments, follows up with no call - no shows, and the discharge of patients.
- Answers inbound calls to the practice, as well as, greets vendors and set vendor appointments.
- Conveys messages in writing, electronically, and verbally.
- Maintains Physicians’ calendars, prepares doctors' notes (return to work, school, or leave notices), and all other correspondence as directed.
- Scans, files, and faxes documents, as well as, prepares and sorts mail.
- Ensures the waiting and reception areas are kept orderly and clean, and will report on any damages of furniture, supplies, or equipment.
- Acts as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patient’s family member in a compassionate and kind manner.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Higher education may be substituted for experience
1 years’ experience in a hospital or physician practice setting.
Basic to intermediate EMR knowledge.
Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in related field of study.
