Under the direction and supervision of the Surgical Intensivist, the Hackensack University Medical Center Nurse Practitioner Trauma Service manages a variety of patients in the critical care and intermediate care setting. This position serves as an advisor, resource, preceptor and leader for other members of the patient care team. The Advanced Clin Provider, APN provides direct and indirect patient care optimizing patient safety to a patient population consisting of, but not limited to, clients from GI/GU, thoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, GYN oncology, trauma, OB-GYN, and orthopedic subspecialties. 365/24/7 coverage
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing.
2. Master's degree.
3. Maintains clinical competencies through participating in continuing educational programs (contact hours per years), and clinical practice as mandated by NJ Board of Nursing and national certification body.
4. Recent clinical experience in peri-operative patient care.
5. Maintains HUMC's joint protocols for advanced practice nurses and collaborating physicians via annual review.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
2. Certification as APN in New Jersey.
3. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
5. Maintains National or Board Certification as appropriate in area of specialty.
