Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking to employ a Chief of Trauma Surgery for our ACS-accredited Level I Trauma Center located in Hackensack, New Jersey. Candidates must be Critical Care/Trauma fellowship trained. The position includes responsibilities in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery.

The trauma centers at Hackensack University Medical Center has been verified as Level 1 Trauma Adult and Level II Pediatric Center by the Verification Review Committee (VRC), an ad hoc committee of the Committee on Trauma (COT) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
Trauma Center Services
- Air medical services: 2 Medical Helicopters, supporting l emergencies and interfacility support throughout the NY/NJ area
- Dedicated trauma team: 24-hour immediate coverage by a trauma team, plus specialists in cardiac surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, radiology and critical care
- Specialty care for kids: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with 24-hour physician coverage and seamless connection to Hackensack Meridian Children’s Hospital teams of pediatric specialists.
- The latest technology: Dedicated high-speed CT scanner for immediate full-body scans and ultrasound equipment to pinpoint critical injuries
