The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing mammography examinations following ACR requirements. This includes screening and diagnostic mammography as well as other radiologic guided procedures such as stereotactic biopsy, breast localization performed within the Breast Center.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- 24 continuing education credits must be obtained every 2 years. 5 continuing education credits must be maintained per year for mammography.
- Must be able to meet the requirements for the National Registry (ARRT) and pass the examination.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
- Diagnostic Radiography License.
- Registered Technologist Radiology & Mammography.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
- Regular contact with Medical Center personnel, patients and visitors.
- Lifts a minimum of 15 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 200 lbs. and stands a minimum of length of shift.
