At Hacker & Willig, we are a highly respected creditor’s rights and remedies litigation law firm located in downtown Seattle, and we are looking for a smart, personable, experienced, and hard-working Paralegal and Legal Assistant to start immediately.
Our firm specializes in active civil litigation in state and federal court, credit enforcement, creditor’s claims, receiverships, commercial bank transactions, custom loan document preparation, creditor’s rights in bankruptcy, secured loan transactions, real property law, and commercial foreclosure matters.

Position Overview:
In this role, Employee will work closely with attorneys, lender clients, and opposing counsel. Employee will manage all aspects of litigation and ensure the smooth handling of all assigned cases. The most successful candidate will already possess a positive and “can do” attitude for any task at hand.
Base compensation range is $65,000 to $90,000, which will depend upon experience. This would be an in-office position during business hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM weekdays, with some limited hybrid and remote work flexibility once training is complete.
Key Responsibilities:
Support attorneys throughout litigation and legal research; Draft, file, and manage legal documents (pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts); Manage case files, calendars, and dockets with precision; Utilize e-filing and e-service systems for state and federal courts; Proofread and edit documents for accuracy and clarity; Assist with correspondence and contract drafting/review; Provide project management support for legal cases; Complete commercial foreclosures independently; Manage outside firm vendors for mailing, process service, and title work
Qualifications:
Law firm experience in litigation and/or transaction work; Minimum 3 years of experience; Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures; Ability to manage cases independently and meet deadlines; Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management; Proficiency with MS Office suite; Experience conducting legal research using Lexis Nexis; Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work easily with several different attorneys

Employee will be eligible to accrue two weeks (80 hours) of vacation per year. Employee will accrue approximately 3.33 hours of vacation per pay period (based on an average of 86.67 hours per pay period). Vacation begins accruing on Employee’s start date, and unused hours do not roll over from one year to the next. Time off requests to be coordinated with firm management in advance.
In the event of illness or other qualifying need, Employee may use accrued Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST). One (1) hour of PSST is accrued for every forty (40) hours worked. Employee may carry over a maximum of forty (40) hours of PSST per calendar year. PSST begins accruing on Employee’s start date. PSST notifications must be made prior to the start of Employee’s shift.
