Senior Sales Compensation Manager

Position Summary :
HackerOne is looking for an experienced professional to join the team as a Senior Sales Compensation Manager. We're looking for someone who is motivated and energized by solving problems. You will have the opportunity to own and build out the function to make an impact on the company. This person will play an important, hands-on role for the most critical lever in driving revenue growth. The manager will collaborate with Sales, Employee Success, Finance, and Sales Operations leadership to help solve sales compensation-related business challenges. You believe success is a team sport and enjoy learning from others and sharing your knowledge, too.
This position reports to our VP of Revenue Strategy and is located remotely in one of our hub cities. At HackerOne, we embrace a Flexible Work approach, enabling our team members to work remotely while maintaining productivity and collaboration. We are seeking candidates located in Seattle, WA, San Francisco Bay Area, Austin, TX, or Washington, DC , and the surrounding metropolitan areas, to facilitate occasional in-person interactions as needed. While the position is primarily remote, there will be periodic in-person requirements to support team collaboration and foster stronger connections. This approach ensures flexibility while providing opportunities to build meaningful in-person relationships that strengthen our team and company culture.
Your Journey at HackerOne
Responsible for the day-to-day commissions administration including global monthly commission cycle and quota attainment tracking
Ensure commission calculations are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with the respective commissions plans
Support the sales team by leaning into issues around incentivization tools and providing recommendations and solutions.
Work within the Revenue Operations team to ensure that incentivization design and practices align to the broader strategy of the organization.
Support the design and administration of quarterly or monthly SPIFs
Participate in annual sales commissions plan design, implementation, and roll out
Provide timely resolution for commission-related inquiries from comp plan participants; including, but not limited to : system access issues, transaction disputes, credits and payment calculations
Potentially participate in implementation & testing of a commissions system
Partner with DataOne, HR, and Payroll teams to ensure availability & integrity of upstream data used by commissions system; maintain mapping as upstream systems evolve
Maintain commissions system configuration to align with plan updates; identify and execute improvements to streamline processes
Assist with monthly and quarterly analyses to track compensation plan performance including variance to budget and pay for performance correlation
Develop internal controls to ensure accuracy of commission payouts & related accruals; prepare and maintain documentation of commission processes and controls
Support ASC 340-40 deferred commissions calculation; partner with Revenue Accounting to develop necessary classification / reporting as commission plans and business evolve
Support quarterly / annual audits; complete audit and SOX testing requests related to commissions
Support ad-hoc reporting needs related to commissions, attainment
Minimum Qualifications :
Minimum of 8 years of experience in compensation administration
Familiarity with sales cycle and SFDC
Intermediate spreadsheet skills (proficient in building models and tools)
Experience with commission systems such as Captivate IQ, Spiff.com, Xactly, etc.
Strong communication and customer service skills
Highly detailed driven with emphasis on accuracy, coupled with the ability to see the broader picture
Experience in driving initiatives and cross-functional projects
Willingness and ability to adapt to the rapid business and organizational changes that accompany a high-growth environment
Software and / or internet industry experience is a plus
