Job Title: Linux and IBM i Infrastructure Systems Specialist/Administrator

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled specialist to join our team, focusing on the maintenance, optimization, and support of numerous Linux and IBM i environments.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting, configuring, and managing Linux/IBM i environments, PPC64, PPC64LE x86_64 architectures with a strong emphasis on security, networking, and custom integrations and modernizations. Responsibilities include ensuring system reliability, implementing security protocols, managing network connectivity, and developing tailored integration solutions to support business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and support infrastructure
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and performance tuning on legacy systems.
• Coordinate hardware installations, upgrades, and migrations.
• Implement and monitor security measures for Linux/IBM i systems, ensuring data protection and compliance.
• Manage networking configurations, including connectivity, protocols, and performance optimization for IBM i and AS/400 platforms.
• Design and deploy custom integrations between legacy systems and modern applications or infrastructure.
• Provide technical expertise for system integration, security enhancements, and legacy application support.
• Document processes, security policies, and integration workflows to maintain operational standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with building and maintaining Linux and IBM I systems and hardware.
• Strong understanding of servers architecture, legacy environments and networking fundamentals.
• Expertise in securing platforms, including user access controls, encryption, and audit compliance.
• Proficiency in networking for Linux/IBM i systems (e.g., TCP/IP, VPNs, and firewall configurations).
• Experience with custom integrations, such as connecting AS/400 systems to modern APIs, databases, or cloud services.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware, security, and network issues.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with system monitoring tools, scripting, and integration frameworks is a plus.
