Role Description
This is a part-time UNPAID position for a Intern of Operations at HADI-Houston in Houston, TX. The intern will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing teams, budgeting, and ensuring excellent customer service. This role plays a vital part in creating a welcoming and inclusive community for all. College students are encouraged to apply!
In addition to managing operations, the Intern of Operations will be tasked with developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance the organization’s impact. They will work closely with the Executive Director and other key stakeholders to align resources and operational practices with the organization’s mission. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing program logistics, leading staff meetings, overseeing community outreach efforts, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage daily operations, including program delivery, volunteer coordination, and community outreach
• Develop and implement operational strategies that align with HADI’s goals
• Supervise and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
• Oversee budgeting and financial reporting to ensure efficient allocation of resources
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, making adjustments as needed
• Foster relationships with external partners and stakeholders to expand the organization’s reach
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and best practices
• Drive continuous improvement in customer service, ensuring that all interactions with the community are welcoming and supportive
Qualifications
• Preferred Proven experience in operations management and team leadership
• Strong analytical skills for effective decision-making and problem-solving
• Budgeting expertise and experience in financial management
• A customer service-oriented mindset with a passion for helping others
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
• Preferred Previous experience in nonprofit or community organizations is highly desirable
• A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with an understanding of the unique challenges faced by immigrant communities
