Python Developer with strong AWS experience.
Mclean, VA (Candidate should be work on our Payroll)
Linux and shell scripts.
- AWS is the primary cloud platform, with some usage of Google Cloud Platform (AI work) and Azure.
- All teams across the enterprise use the Machine Shop s base images to create their own OS and container images.
- Role & Requirements
- Primary: Strong Python skills (for coding and feature development), AWS, Docker.
- Secondary: Shell scripting (especially for Linux imaging), PowerShell, DevOps fundamentals.
- Python Use Cases: Infrastructure provisioning, APIs (Flask, JSON, Requests, Boto3, etc.).
- AWS Services: EC2, S3, Lambda (need to understand how Lambda is used).
- Position: Contract-to-hire (CTH), eventually converting to Principal Associate.
- Experience Level: 3 5 years (preferably closer to 5).
- Location: Primarily McLean, VA; will also consider Richmond, VA.
- Skill Focus:
- DevOps vs. Python Developer: Preference for a strong Python Developer with AWS/Docker experience (more coding-heavy role).
- Additional Notes
- Interviews will include coding questions (focus on problem-solving in Python).
- The existing contractor (hired in August) is being replaced due to communication and skill gaps.
- Approval is pending but expected soon.
