What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Machine Repair position at HADLEY PRODUCTS LLC?
BACKGROUND REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in machine repair of hydraulic trim presses, vacuum forming, robotic trim, extrusion equipment, air compressors, chillers and assembly equipment
- PLC troubleshooting, understanding electrical prints and schematics to facilitate repairs of equipment
- Ability to read, follow and understand electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings, blueprints, schematics, service manuals and manufacturers’ specifications
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- The ability to work at a height in excess of 60’
- Minimum 5 years of experience and related course work or Journeyman Machine Repair
- Must Be Able to Complete Machine Repair Competency Test
SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Should have standard knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ability to use email functions on the computer.
- Should have standard knowledge of tools including, welding, mills, lathes, cutting equipment, metal shear and brake, measuring, and drill tools
- Ability to obtain Hi-Lo Certification
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles
- Excellent interpersonal skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use drawings/blueprints, schematic diagrams, service manuals, code manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications to mechanically install, modify, enhance and repair machines and mechanical equipment.
- Use basic PC/PLC knowledge and electrical schematics to troubleshoot and repair machines and mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, machine manuals, and basic interpretation of electrical schematics.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and oxy/acetylene welding to install, modify, enhance, repair, and maintain business unit equipment and to fabricate and repair parts.
- Start/restart machines and mechanical equipment after installations, modifications, enhancements, and repairs to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair breakdown of various equipment throughout production including but not limited to hydraulic trim presses, vacuum formers, robotic trim, extrusion equipment, air compressors, chillers and assembly equipment
- First responder to breakdowns including but not limited to: motors, circuits, switches, cylinders, valves, gauges, conveyors etc.
- Ability to train, teach, and assess other Machine Repair or Process Tech as required, working well, leading, and mentoring in a team environment.
- Continually increase technical knowledge and knowledge of alternative work through internal or external training classes and/or seminars.
- Address all machine-related and part quality issues, as well as all other issues, with co-workers and management personnel with accuracy, in a timely manner, giving updates and schedules as necessary.
- Complete appropriate paperwork, including machine documentation, panel documentation, and preventive maintenance records to ensure adequate documentation needed to enhance the elimination of equipment downtime.
- Document hours and work activity daily in record-keeping system—Maintenance Connection.
- Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback and communication to co-workers and management, including training and validating/appraising work as appropriate.
- Backup for the Process Tech role as needed.
- Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies and procedures, including ISO, IATF, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Not limited to and including any other maintenance job functions or other duties as assigned.
