What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator (HGES) position at HAECO HGES?
Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator will operate an industrial forklift to accomplish various material handling assignments. This includes the loading and unloading of small and large aircraft engines using a stand-up forklift, pallet jack, or heavy-duty forklift safely are required. (Other duties may be assigned)
Essential Job Duties:
1. Receive and ship all engines using checklists and producing photo reports
2. Communicate professionally and effectively with vendors, customers, or other parties consistently
3. Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and move engines, packages, or other items when needed
4. Effectively use MS Outlook, Quantum Control ERP, and Jetraxx systems to process shipping and receiving activities
5. Assist Stores personnel by receiving/issuing/ordering parts or tools, including inventories and other tasks as needed
6. Apply understanding of machine loading capacity
7. Gain knowledge of engine tie-down procedures for aircraft engines
8. Report problems with engines, supplies, and parts to Stores supervisor
9. Unload and place drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specific areas
10. Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures
11. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
12. Perform other duties as assigned
Accountabilities:
Accountable to Stores Supervisor
Minimum Job Qualifications:
1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Dangerous Good certification preferred
3. 3 years heavy-duty forklift experience in the aerospace, oil field, farming, or comparable industry
4. Forklift license preferred
5. Read, write, and understand the English language
6. Class C driver’s license
7. Demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test
Physical Requirements:
1. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
2. May be exposed to loud noise
3. Able to bend, stoop, kneel and stand for prolonged periods, climb steps, ladders, and/or service stands
4. Ability to talk, hear and smell
5. Reach/handle items, work with fingers and perceives attributes of object and materials
6. Work outside and in warehouse environment as necessary
7. Normal office environment and performed in the sitting position with the remaining time walking around the office or repair station/shop areas
8. Normal or corrected hearing
9. May need to work in hot or cold weather conditions
10. Visual Acuity must be a minimum of 20/40 corrected and must be able to distinguish color
