Position Overview
The Manager of Employee Development is responsible for the design and implementation of training programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and career growth. This role ensures that training programs comply with all applicable Federal Aviation regulations as appropriate and ensures alignment with organizational goals and fosters a culture of continuous learning.
Essential Job Duties
- Develop and oversee employee development strategies, programs, and initiatives.
- Collaborates with the FAA (as needed) and both internal and external customers to assess training needs and create employee specific development plans.
- Perform audits of the HAECO Training Program to ensure compliance with the HAECO Training Manual and all regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and develop corrective/ preventative actions for identified departmental deficiencies.
- Coordinate with all HAECO Training locations to ensure they are equipped with the resources needed to meet all training requirements of the FAA, customers, and HAECO.
- Manage the budget for employee development programs and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Manage training schedules for all training classes (initial, mandatory, and recurrent) and send to the appropriate Managers and individuals.
- Collaborate with General Managers and Maintenance Managers to support technical employee development.
- Manage and respond to all HAECO ProSafeT submissions TR 0013.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices to continuously improve development offerings.
- Facilitate employee feedback sessions to identify areas for improvement and adapt programs accordingly.
- Prepare reports on training outcomes and development program effectiveness for senior leadership.
- Manage all AMTs to ensure they receive the experience needed to apply to the FAA to receive Repairmen certification under FAR Part 65.101(a)(5)(i).
- Manage external training opportunities (i.e. ARSA Online Training) to ensure continuous education for all employees.
- Manage and enhance Training Manual Chapter 18 (TR0070 process).
- Conduct pre-employment and post-employment evaluations for insight into the employee experience.
- Serve in the capacity of Instructor as needed.
- Supervise assigned staff with the responsibility of hiring employees, monitoring performance, administering disciplinary action to include separation of employment and resolution of employee related issues.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
What you need: (Requirements)
Minimum
- Ten (10) years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
- Five (5) years of experience in Employee Training/Development, with a minimum of three years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and training software.
- Proficient use of analytics to access training needs and evaluating program effectiveness.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and be able to interact with a wide variety of people
- Ability to lead and motivate teams, with strong project management capabilities.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally by driving and/or flying (10%)
Preferred
- A&P License
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education
Certification in training and/or organizational development (ATD, SHRM)
