Responsibilities:
- Train associates, seniors, and supervisors through effective supervision in proper work paper techniques, tax return preparation, and efficient work organization to maximize quality
- Provide constructive and useful feedback to staff members to support their professional growth
- Review individual, corporate, membership, fiduciary, and estate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with all applicable regulations
- Manage engagement responsibilities comprehensively from inception to completion, ensuring smooth and efficient processes
- Perform engagements with minimal supervision, consistently producing high-quality work products that meet or exceed technical standards
- Directly correspond and communicate effectively with clients, building strong and lasting professional relationships
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with staff, managers, and partners involved in engagements, as well as administrative personnel
- Continuously develop new business opportunities through active networking, community involvement, and strategic contact cultivation for referral purposes
- Organize and coordinate workflow across multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Stay current with professional literature in tax, accounting, and general business to maintain a high level of expertise
- Draft accurate and timely invoices to clients for services rendered
- Effectively supervise and mentor several staff members on multiple projects concurrently, fostering their professional development
- Further develop technical skills, particularly in identified areas of tax specialization
- Continue to expand professional contacts and client relationships
- Maintain a strong emphasis on the quality and accuracy of all work products produced by the team
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Active CPA License
- Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive public accounting experience with a strong focus on tax
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing a wide range of tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and estate tax returns
- Demonstrated experience in managing client engagements from start to finish
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a passion for developing junior level staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly and professionally to both clients and team members
- Active involvement in networking and business development activities
- Proficiency in tax preparation software such as CCH Access and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
