What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Assistant position at Hafele America Co.?
Credit Assistant
The Credit Assistant will be assigned a group of accounts based on sales territories and work with customers on the collection of their past-due receivables with Hafele America Co. The position will not only interact directly with customers but will also work with Hafele’s sales force and customer service group to solve any outstanding issues that may be holding up customer payments. The position will also work with the credit manager to establish and maintain appropriate credit limits and work with customers to stay within those limits or find acceptable solutions to mitigate Hafele’s credit risk.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships – establish and maintain cooperative, positive working relationships with all internal team members and with external customers.
- Credit/Collections – basic understanding of standard commercial collection practices and techniques, along with the ability to analyze the process of releasing orders.
- Mathematics –the ability to analyze accounts containing debits and credits.
- Conflict Resolution – the ability to resolve conflicting situations with internal and external customers.
- Time Management – the ability to deal effectively with multiple deadlines and maintain effectiveness in various circumstances.
- Computer Knowledge – solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Qualification, Education and/or Experience
- Associate's degree from a college or university is preferred, OR a High School education with at least two years of experience and/or training.
