Job Title: INBOUND LOGISTICS SPECIALIST
Department: LOGISTICS
Reports To: ANGELA HAZELWOOD
FLSA Status: NONEXEMPT
SUMMARY:
Support the daily activities and processes of the Logistics Department. Reports direct to the Traffic Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Create inbound document numbers in SAP
- Post supplier invoices in SAP
- Basic knowledge of all aspects of the Logistics Department
- Communication with freight forwarder(s), Procurement, and Customer Service
- Scan documents via Doxis into SAP
- Quote International air and sea freight charges
- Customer Service Duties with internal and external customers
- Request HTS codes for new products
- Basic knowledge of international shipping and Incoterms
Other duties that may be assigned which relate to International Imports, proficient in the shipping software processes, and import specialist.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate or bachelor’s degree and/or three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have Microsoft experience and be proficient in Word and Excel. Basic knowledge of transportation terms in domestic and international shipping. Job requires extensive computer work so being computer literate is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to make decisions and work independently.
