Assistant Category Manager
Summary
As a member of the Category Management department, qualified candidate will take direction from Category Managers.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with development and execution of new product launches
- Collaborates with suppliers, procurement, and sales departments to maintain product programs
- Provide technical assistance to sales departments and customers
- Helps to manage and source items in regards to Special Customer Requests and include response to Spare Part Requests, and closure to Service Requests as needed
- Resolves quality issues with suppliers and customers in cooperation with quality department
- Administers new and existing products with regards to computer systems (make amendments, add or delete products)
- Helps to develop and maintain product catalog pages, mounting instructions, templates, price lists, etc.
- Attend trade shows and sales events as required
- Domestic and International travel may be required as needed
- Ability to communicate technical details to a wide variety of audiences and aptitudes
- Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges and able to multi task several projects at a given time
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Strong basic mathematical skills are required; fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook and Word
Education, Work Experience, Certification and /or Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University or related industry experience
- Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Additional or Desired Requirements
- Knowledge of Furniture Construction
- Foreign Language
- Ability to evolve to Category Management operations specialist
