Specific Responsibilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, reach, and lift. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Job Summary:
This position is accountable for the acquisition of new propane and distillates accounts in the Haffner’s service area.
Specific Responsibilities
- Responsible for consistently meeting monthly margin and gallon growth quotas, through new customer acquisition.
- Meets expectations for customer prospecting as defined by the Growth Manager, using means that include but are not limited to field “cold calling,” association memberships, real estate and tax resources, customer referrals, telemarketing.
- Reports all activity in CRM and/or structured Excel reports, for review with the CHOO.
- Completes site surveys in a thorough and timely fashion, incorporating knowledge of local, state, and national safety codes and best practices.
- Works with customers to secure customer agreements and other sales-related documentation.
- Reviews all orders to ensure that products and services are appropriately quoted.
- Liaises with the Service Department to ensure timely, correct installations.
- Liaises with our Legal Department to review RFP’s and ensure vendor compliance.
- Collects and forwards competitive information on service techniques, pricing, and marketing strategy.
- Performs other related duties, or duties that maximize the individual’s knowledge and contributions, at the discretion of the CHOO or their designee.
- Absolute commitment to customer satisfaction, including timely issue resolution and proactive customer outreach.
- Concise, effective verbal and written communications skills.
- The desire to excel both individually and as part of a larger team.
- The ability to execute tactically by organizing multiple processes and prioritizing duties in a multitasking and rapidly changing work environment.
- Successful sales experience in propane or distillates, home comfort, home improvement, or other consultative retail sales strongly preferred.
- College degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as web-based applications.
- Base Salary to be commensurate with sales and industry experience.
- Monthly Commission payments based on the acquisition date of new residential and commercial accounts. New tank locations for existing accounts, requiring sales efforts are also eligible.
- .075 per gallon for all gallons delivered within a 12-month timeframe after the new account’s acquisition date. .025 per gallon for all gallons delivered to the same account within the timeframe of 13-24 months after the acquisition date.
- One-time STIP payment per new account type Commercial $50.00 Residential $25.00
- Company vehicle to be used for business purposes. All non-business, personal miles are to be recorded in an annual mileage report.
- Company cell phone and laptop.
