Summary: The Vice President of Facilities is a senior-level executive responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company's physical facilities, including planning, design, maintenance, operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, while strategically developing and managing R&M budgets, space utilization, and improvement projects to optimize the functionality and efficiency of the company's buildings and infrastructure. Works with internal and external partners to ensure that projects are completed according to Company specifications and ensures compliance with Company policies, procedures, and goals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive facilities management strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives, including long-term improvement plans and space utilization strategies.
- Manage and oversee the facilities budget, including maintenance costs, and vendor contracts, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all facilities, including building maintenance, repairs, cleaning, security, utilities management, and environmental compliance.
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of facility repairs, fuel management, IT support functions, renovation, and managing contractor relationships and ensuring project timelines and budget adherence.
- Ensure timely and effective resolution of customer inquiries, issues, and complaints.
- Implement and optimize tools, processes, and technologies to enhance the customer experience.
- Establish and manage preventative maintenance programs for building systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and life safety systems.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with facilities operations, including safety hazards, environmental concerns, and regulatory compliance issues.
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies for facilities, including energy efficiency projects, waste reduction programs, and green building practices.
- Lead and manage a team of facilities professionals, including maintenance technicians, and IT Technicians, and providing coaching, development, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with various departments across the organization to understand their facility needs, address concerns, and ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure all facilities operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding building codes, safety standards, environmental protection, and accessibility.
- Monitor and analyze support metrics (e.g., response time, resolution rates, customer satisfaction scores).
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with HR and department leaders to ensure employees have access to necessary resources and support.
- Develop training programs to equip employees with self-service tools and troubleshooting capabilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years in facilities management, and leadership roles in managing large and complex facilities.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic facilities plans, including facility improvement projects.
- Expertise in building systems, maintenance practices, and contract management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address facility issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Leadership capabilities to motivate and manage a team of facilities professionals.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications for facility management, including building management systems and project management tools.

This position requires travel for site visits while based out of the Corporate Office in Lawrence, MA. The person in this role will perform a combination of office work and field work. The position requires the physical ability to sit and use a keyboard for lengthy periods of time. Must be willing and able to complete the following tasks unassisted: drive, walk, bend, squat, reach, stretch; lift over 25 lbs.; and ascend/descend ladders and stairs.
Compensation:
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications. For the purpose of this role, the minimum salary opportunity is:
PAY $173,000/ year.
