Job Title: Tournament Coordinator

Reports to: Tournament Director
Location: Haggin Oaks Golf Course

Rate of Pay: $18 - $23 hr

FLSA Status: hourly, non-exempt, full time

Position Overview

Morton Golf is looking for a Tournament Coordinator who will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of golf tournaments, from planning to execution. This role involves coordination with multiple departments, including maintenance, catering, and marketing, to ensure seamless and successful tournaments. The ideal candidate for this position is a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a passion for golf.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate tee time reservations for groups prior to the event, ensuring a seamless start.
• Set up essential infrastructure for tournaments, including tents and tables.
• Exhibit strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with pro shop employees, starters, and catering staff to ensure seamless coordination and operation of the event.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all tournament-related inquiries.
• Assist in managing the Haggin Oaks Volunteer Program to enhance event support.
• Ensure the maintenance of a consistent pace of play for guests on a daily basis.
• Foster positive relationships with guests and cultivate professional connections with members of Morton Golf Staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Golf Operations Experience.
• Minimum 5 years of Golf Playing Experience; experience playing in golf tournaments is preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree in sports management, business administration or hospitality is preferred.
• Experience in selling, detailing, and hosting tournaments preferred.
• The tournament season runs from March to October, and during these months, the tournament coordinator must be fully dedicated to their role.
• Team player with strong work ethic.
• High level of professionalism and dedication.
• Excellent communication skills at all company levels.
