Seeking Self-Motivated Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Busy downtown law firm with two Attorneys is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Drafting, proofreading and finalizing documents including correspondence, pleadings, briefs, orders, etc.
- Filing documents with the Circuit Court
- Communication with clients, other attorneys, and Court staff on a daily basis
- Scheduling appointments using a multiple-line phone system and Microsoft Office programs
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries, sending and receiving faxes and email communications
- Maintaining multiple calendars with precision
- Maintaining day-to-day office environment in orderly manner
- Filing and organizing with exactness
- Handling multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously with excellent attention to detail, follow through ability, and initiative. Balancing multiple immediate directives with day-to-day activities.
- Arriving to work timely, working hard and efficiently, while displaying a polished, professional appearance and outgoing and positive personality.
Required Skills:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to self-prioritize assignments.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
- You will deal directly with other employees, other attorneys, clients, potential clients and vendors so a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and professional manner are a must.
- Maintaining poise when stressed.
- Prior experience in a law firm environment is preferred but not necessary.
- A post-high school degree is a definite plus. This position offers the possibility of advancement for the right person.
