Job Description: The primary role of this position is to manage the QA/QC: Food Safety program. This includes maintaining documentation regarding HACCP, GMP, SOP, and employee training. The QA/QC: Food Safety Manager is also a team leader for third party audits. This position will develop, implement and monitor company policies and procedures related to Food Safety, Food Security, and Quality Assurance programs. Additionally, coordinates and follows up on activities by performing the following duties personally.
Job Responsibilities: Principal purpose of the job and its major objectives shall be as follows:
· Manage the Food Safety/Quality Systems and SQF program in a manner that promotes safety and meets the safety objectives.
· Foster a culture of food safety awareness amongst production personnel, sanitation personnel and any other staff entering or working in production facility.
· Assist in achieving and maintaining Food Safety/Quality Assurance plan for the facility.
· Participate as HACCP team member and SQF Practitioner.
· Design Food Safety Quality systems for continuous improvement.
· Conduct microbial testing in areas of the facility according to daily, weekly and monthly requirements.
· Conduct preoperational inspections along with USDA and other team members.
· Conduct calibration of equipment including thermometers, scales and salometers according to daily, weekly and monthly requirements.
· Assist in auditing the production systems for error free production.
· Manage an audit ready area at all times including up to date paperwork and testing.
· Assist in managing documentation of record keeping.
· Assist in evaluating and responding to customer concerns.
· Conduct training for production personnel on quality control procedures, food safety and regulations.
· Ensure product and packaging quality for every product.
· Assist in the development of new products and product improvements.
· Communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
· Any other tasks as requested by direct supervisor, President or Vice-President or Director of Operations.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree required (Food Science or Chemistry preferred.)
· Computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
· Experience managing Quality Systems for food production facilities, 5 or more years.
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices.
· Excellent leadership skills and communication skills.

Salary : $19 - $27
