Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and energetic Restaurant Expeditor & Food Runner to join our team. This combined role ensures efficient communication between the kitchen and front-of-house while delivering food promptly and accurately to guests. The ideal candidate will have excellent multitasking skills, a strong sense of urgency, and a commitment to providing outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:Expeditor Duties:
- Act as a liaison between kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely and accurate food delivery.
- Review dishes before they leave the kitchen, checking for presentation, accuracy, and quality.
- Ensure proper plate garnishing and final touches before food is sent to guests.
- Prioritize and organize tickets based on order times and customer needs.
- Communicate any order modifications, special requests, or delays with the kitchen and service staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the expediting area.
Food Runner Duties:
- Deliver food from the kitchen to tables quickly and efficiently.
- Assist in explaining dishes and ingredients to guests when necessary.
- Ensure all necessary condiments, sides, and utensils accompany each order.
- Monitor tables for any additional guest needs and relay requests to servers.
- Clear empty dishes and assist with resetting tables as needed.
- Support servers and kitchen staff during peak hours for smooth operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in food running, expediting, or a similar restaurant role preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure.
- Positive attitude and teamwork-oriented mindset.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift trays or plates as needed.
