What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Back position at Hal's The Steakhouse?
Training will be scheduled May 6th - 22nd. (You will not be scheduled all of those days - each department will be spread out during that time period.)
We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic Bar Back to join our team! You will assist the bartenders behind the bar and contribute to an exceptional dining experience by keeping bar items stocked (ex: glasses, bottles, juices, etc.), ensuring bar is set up to begin the shift, and helping to clean the bar at the end of the night. You are great at managing multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment. With special attention to the details, you care about performing quality work and overall contributing to a friendly and productive team atmosphere.

Responsibilities:
- Pre-shift set up – stocking the bar with all glasses, liquor, beer, wine, mixers, etc.
- Deliver bus tubs to the dishwashing station, scrape, and stack dishes for cleaning.
- Help keep glassware cleaned and stocked throughout shift.
- Help management maintain inventory (ex: alert managers when items are low stock and/or out of stock).
- Help with deliveries – unboxing and organizing products on delivery days.
- Alert management of potential problems behind the bar (ex: soda gun not working, sink clogged, etc.)
- Retrieve service items needed by bartenders throughout shift (ex: salads, bread, desserts, coffees, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Bar Back (1 year minimum).
- Previous knowledge of food service regulations is preferred.
- Skilled with the tools/machines needed for the position (Ex: Bar dishwasher, espresso machine, etc.)
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to life, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
