We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in assisted living environment. Duties
- Plan, organize, and implement a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Assist in the coordination of special events, ensuring all necessary materials and resources are available.
- Engage with residents on a personal level, encouraging participation in activities while providing companionship and support.
- Document resident participation and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of programs.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants during activities.
- Provide support during outings or community events, ensuring the comfort and safety of all residents.
Requirements
- Previous experience in event planning or recreational therapy is preferred but not mandatory.
- Background in senior care is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the needs of individuals in long-term care settings, including those with disabilities or dementia care experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
- A compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others through engaging activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated to initiate programs independently.
- Flexibility to adapt activities based on resident preferences and changing needs.

Expected hours: 32 per week

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating weekends
