Job Description
We are seeking an experienced law enforcement professional to join our security company as a Partner and SORA Qualifying Agent. This key leadership position will oversee security operations while fulfilling New Jersey SORA requirements for our security business. The ideal candidate will leverage their law enforcement background to ensure regulatory compliance, lead security operations, and contribute to the company's strategic growth in IT, site security, and executive protection services.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Licensing
- Serve as the company's Qualifying Agent under NJ SORA requirements
- Maintain required licenses and certifications, including :
New Jersey SORA Security Officer Instructor Certification
NJ Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) licenseValid New Jersey firearms instructor certification (if applicable for armed services)Ensure compliance with all federal and state security industry regulationsOversee licensing and certification processes for security personnelMaintain relationships with regulatory bodies and law enforcement agenciesOperations Management
Direct security operations across IT security, physical security, and personal protection servicesDevelop and implement standard operating procedures for all security servicesOversee training programs for security personnelConduct threat assessments and risk analysis for client engagementsManage emergency response protocols and crisis management proceduresCollaborate with IT security teams to ensure comprehensive security solutionsBusiness Development & Client Relations
Leverage law enforcement network to develop new business opportunitiesParticipate in contract negotiations and client consultationsBuild and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholdersRepresent the company at industry events and professional associationsContribute to proposal development for government and private sector contractsTeam Leadership
Recruit, train, and mentor security personnelEnsure compliance with training requirements under SORADevelop and maintain training curricula for security officersOversee performance evaluations and professional development programsFoster a culture of excellence and continuous improvementRequirements
Education & Experience
Minimum of 5 years of law enforcement experience (required for SORA Qualifying Agent status)Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or related field preferredActive or retired law enforcement officer in good standingExperience in private security operations preferredLicenses & Certifications Required
Must qualify under N.J.A.C. 13 : 55A-3.2 for SORA Qualifying Agent statusNew Jersey SORA Security Officer Instructor CertificationValid New Jersey driver's licenseMust be able to obtain and maintain any additional required state / federal security licensesFBI background check clearanceNew Jersey State Police background check clearanceKnowledge & Skills
