We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking an Intern to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This person will assist office engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks. This is temporary role that will be about 3 months long starting in May or June of 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Walnut Creek, CA office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

• Serve in a field support role, working on technically challenging projects.
• Assist engineers and Project Managers with the planning and execution of site characterization programs on various infrastructure and real estate development projects.
• Assist with evaluation of subsurface geotechnical and environmental data.
• Assist in performing geotechnical design/analysis and developing geotechnical recommendations.
• Asist the laboratory manager in running geotechnical testing on soil samples.
• Express a willingness to visit construction sites to assist in the field with our construction monitoring service group.
• Complete 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training course where required (not all internship programs will require this training).
• Attend weekly Lunch and Learns.
• Attend weekly Internship Community Sessions.
• Complete a presentation at the end of the Summer to include, but not limited to:
• Overall internship experience, technical projects review, favorite project, biggest obstacle, etc.
• Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
• Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
• Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu.
• Driver’s license highly preferred.
• Ability to work for 3 or more consecutive months on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 weeks preferred).
• Experience with geospatial engineering or working with GIS functionality.
• Ability to use AI as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Candidate should be at least 2 years into their academic career.
• Candidate should be enrolled in a civil, geotechnical, geospatial engineering educational program (undergraduate or graduate).

The salary range for this position in Walnut Creek, CA is $24.00 - $27.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.
