We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist 1 to work in a technical support role to support complex projects with collaborative, multidisciplinary project teams. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated problem solver with an attention to detail and must be capable of understanding and accurately extrapolating technical data and information to solve problems and create technically accurate verbal and written communications. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and become involved in a variety of groundwater and environmental projects for a broad range of clients. This full-time, hybrid position will be based out of our Costa Mesa, CA office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you
will:
- Conduct routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using approved procedures appropriate for their discipline.
- Assist in identifying technical issues and approaches for evaluation.
- Be able to learn and apply local, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversee site groundwater investigation activities including drilling, well construction, field mapping, and environmental sampling of different media. (periodic travel to investigation sites in support of performing field investigation activities is required).
- Perform other routine fieldwork activities including but not limited to for example lithologic mapping/descriptions, slug and pump testing, aquifer testing and surface water measurements/groundwater quality sampling.
- Document project-related activities in the field and office using electronic and written documentation.
- Analyze and assess field geologic/hydrogeology data and related information to assess trends, groundwater flow mapping and groundwater quality impacts.
- Draft technical sections of project communications, work plans, proposals/scoping, and reports.
- Perform all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.
- Comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Hydrogeology.
- Minimum 6 - 8 years of related office and hydrogeologist field work experience.
- Has applied, or has interest and ability to apply for Professional Geologist or Certified Hydrogeologist license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Field Investigation skills and experience:
- Experience with groundwater, surface water, and soil sampling.
- Experience with drilling and construction of water wells and monitoring wells.
- Experience with field hydrological data collection, aquifer testing, slug testing, and groundwater analysis.
- Experience/proficiency in the development of field sampling workplans and programs is a plus.
- Computer Skills:
- Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in MS Office software.
- Familiarity and/or demonstrated skills using Power BI, groundwater modeling and data visualization tools is a plus.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred but not required.
The salary range for this position in Costa Mesa, CA is $90,000 - $115,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.
