We're in pursuit of a top-tier geotechnical engineering professionals to expand our dynamic team in California. The ideal candidates for the role of Principal Geotechnical Engineer will possess an extensive portfolio of geotechnical work, robust consultative expertise, and strong client connections that will bolster leadership, provide strategic guidance, and deliver innovative technical contributions to grow our client network in their region, particularly in San Diego or the San Francisco Bay Area. These individuals will steer the geotechnical components of various projects across markets focusing on building construction and public infrastructure enhancements. This position represents an exemplary opportunity to accelerate your career with a premier national engineering and consultancy establishment. This is a full-time position located in our San Diego, CA, Costa Mesa, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA or Walnut Creek, CA office.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will :
- Engage in developing and executing strategic geotechnical engineering consulting work with identified existing and target clients to result in at least $1,000,000 in net revenue annually.
- Actively participate in two or three professional organizations focused on the local market and / or issues faced by our clients.
- Have a passion and demonstrated success for developing business with new clients and continuing to foster trusted relationships with existing clients.
- Develop annual client action plans, forecast client revenue and profits to support strategy deployment, and lead pursuits with project team members.
- Develop and implement business strategies to meet stated business metric goals for our West Coast market (CA, OR, WA, and HI) in cooperation with other offices and senior management.
- Prepare proposals and obtain mutually agreeable contracts.

The salary range for this position in California is $200,000 - 260,000 annually . Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.
