Job description
Prominent Central Texas firm seeking experienced Paralegal / Legal Assistant to directly support litigation and general business counsel lawyers. As legal assistant on the litigation team, you will support our Attorneys in a broad array legal support tasks.
The best fit for this enjoys collaborating within team of varied skill level and strengths to provide the most proactive, efficient, and accurate legal administrative support to the attorneys within the Litigation team. This individual would be highly self-organized, resourceful, and tech savvy. Grammar and proofreading pro a must!
Key Duties and Responsibilities assigned across the team include but are not exclusive to:
- Manage and maintain calendar including deadlines and filing schedules for you and your attorney(s)
- Input attorney's time into billing system accurately and efficiently
- Triage client and vendor calls to determine what they can directly assist with vs. what urgently needs attorney attention
- Prepare and organize client and case documents in a highly consistent manner
- Draft, edit, proofread, and update documentation for your attorney
- Various light office duties as needed for client matters such as scanning, filing, copying, etc.
- Assist in scheduling client and other meetings in office
- Maintain client and vendor relationships through professional, efficient interaction
- Coordinate with legal parties involved in matters for billing, settlements, scheduling, etc.
- Client record requests and follow up with various third parties for case support
- Organize deposition and trial binders with minimal guidance
Education and Experience Requires:
- Some college or associate degree preferred
- 5 years legal assistant experience preferred
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- 5 years customer service minimum preferred
- 5 years experience with Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe required
- Experience with other industry common tools such as file share applications preferred

- Highly organized with minimal guidance
- Self-starter with willingness to ask questions and identify appropriate resources
- Ability to prioritize
- Patient yet persistent
- Punctual and consistently reliability of attendance
- Professional attitude and appearance suitable for highly conservative industry (business casual dress required daily)
- Highest level of confidentiality of all information you handle in any format
- Flexibility and ability to work occasional weekend hours or extended days as needed for fluctuations in project and general workload.
This is a full-time, in-person position predominately Monday-Friday during standard business hours. Our offices are closed for major federal holidays as set in our annual Holiday Calendar. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance and have reliable transportation both for getting to and from work and for occasional ad hoc errands that may be required.
Pay reflected is average starting. Offered compensation package is directly dependent upon applicable civil litigation legal assistant experience.
