Position Purpose
The Leasing Consultant will show and lease apartments to prospective residents and assist with lease renewals for existing residents. Courteously and efficiently provide customer service to prospects and existing residents.
Essential Responsibilities
Answers incoming calls, emails and face-to-face visits related to sales for prospective residents and service for current residents.
Greets prospective residents, determining their needs and preferences. Professionally presents the apartment community and specific units while communicating features and benefits both in the office and while touring the community/specific units. Qualifies residents. Asks for the lease.
Proactively contacts and follows up with prospect leads before and after their initial appointments.
Accurately processes application verifications, completes lease paperwork and accepts rent payments and deposits.
Organizes and files appropriate lease paperwork, reports, etc.
Enters work orders and follows up on work order completion/satisfaction with residents. Notifies maintenance team about issues/emergencies.
Inspects tour routes, models and market ready vacancies to ensure cleanliness and appeal, taking or arranging corrective action if needed. Monitors community facilities i.e. pool, fitness center, laundry rooms and other common areas, taking or arranging corrective action if needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Ability to create a sense of urgency through immediate follow up on all prospective leads, setting appointments and closing on sales.
Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.
Computer and math skills including the ability to learn and navigate web-based applications.
Ability to navigate web-based applications. Basic skill in computer applications, specifically Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel. Positive and pro-active attitude, demonstrating a collaborative work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Good multi-tasking and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in an atmosphere with frequent interruptions.
Must possess a current valid driver’s license.
Ability to work Saturdays.
Prior experience in related field preferred.
On-time, consistent attendance is an essential function of the position.
