Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Janitorial Services Professional to join our facilities team at Halifax Community College. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional custodial services to our campus community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash receptacles.
- Respond to maintenance requests, including fixing broken equipment and repairing minor damages.
- Operate various equipment and machinery, including vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, and buffers.
- Interact and communicate with various groups and individuals, including Custodial Supervisor, co-workers, staff and faculty, contractors, regulatory agencies, businesses, and the general public.
- Perform general administrative work, including attending meetings, providing data for reports.
Requirements:
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in janitorial, customer services, or related industry is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
