Cafeteria Aide Cashier
This individual operates cash registers in cafeteria for cash and Quick Charge transactions. Responsible for following all cash handling procedures and accountable for over/short, voids, and no sales. Stocks cafeteria with beverage, food, and non-food items and performs general cleaning of area.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must possess basic math skills and the ability to count money and make change.
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skill and excellent customer service skills.
- Previous experience as a cashier is preferred.
- Organizes cashier station, verifies cash bank at beginning of shift.
- Operates cash register to process cash transactions for cafeteria purchases made by staff, volunteers, and visitors.
- Processes non-cash transactions for cafeteria for interdepartmental transfers and charges.
- Follows all cash handling policies and procedures; completes required reports legibly.
- Makes coffee, and maintains fountain beverage syrup, and beverage machines.
- Sets up and refills snack/condiment stand, silverware and plastic ware.
- Performs general cleaning tasks according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Assists Cafeteria Supervisor in training new cashiers.
- Sets up steam table and serves food to cafeteria customers.
