What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boutique Hotel Housekeeper position at Halifax Inn?
We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, experienced Housekeeper to join our team at Halifax Inn. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization throughout our property. If you have a passion for hospitality, serving people, an eye for detail, and take pride in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests, this position is perfect for you!
This positions is part time and is one to two days a week. Approximately 5-10 hours weekly.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, ensuring they are spotless and well-maintained.
- Change bed linens, towels, and other amenities in accordance with hotel standards.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust guest rooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Ensure all areas are stocked with supplies and report any shortages to the supervisor.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the hotel's facilities, services, and amenities.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and ensure their satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other team members to provide exceptional guest experiences.
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate department.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Housekeeper or similar role in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and techniques.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work one day throughout the week and one weekend day.
- Professional and friendly demeanor with a customer-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and on your own.
Compensation:
We pay per room rather than hourly! Each room has a set price according to the size of the room and the estimated time of completion. This makes it great because it leaves it up to you to set your schedule for the day and your pace. (Rooms scheduled to be cleaned for the day must be completed and ready for check-in at 3pm at the latest) Tips are also possible as many guests do leave our housekeeping staff tips.
