Busy Optometric clinic in Clarksville has an immediate opening for a full-time receptionist. Previous optical experience preferred, but will consider a candidate with experience in the medical field.

Duties include:
Answering telephones, scheduling patients, verifying and billing medical and vision insurance and pre-authorizations, gathering and data entry of patient demographics, checking patients out at end of visit, scanning and shredding documents, assisting provider referral, ordering contact lenses, dispensing and minor repairs of eyeglasses and contacts, various administrative duties, light office cleaning (including but not limited to sweeping and mopping and emptying trash).

This position requires an understanding of customer care, sales, communication and teamwork. Candidates need to possess a strong work ethic, be dependable and punctual, have the ability to work unsupervised. Display excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Obtaining prior authorization from insurance companies
- Keeping track of invoices, consolidating them at the end of each month and making sure that they get paid monthly
- Keeps detailed inventory of all supplies
- Order optical/office supplies
- Knowledge of proper phone etiquette
- Communicate with patients face-to-face as well as over the phone in a professional manner
- Ability to communicate with and properly handle patients that are unhappy
- Customer service and sales skills to promote a excellent experience for each of our patients
- Ability to work with sales representatives
- Additional responsibilities as required to assist other team members to complete tasks
- Experience with working directly with physicians
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 per week
