Site Safety and Health Officer - Construction

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join our team at Hallack Contracting, Inc. This role is essential in promoting a safe work environment. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with industry regulations to protect our workforce.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for construction sites.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Provide training and resources to employees on safety practices and emergency procedures.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure safety measures are integrated into project plans.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to occupational health and safety.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years safety work in the construction industry.
• Completed 30 Hour OSHA safety class or equivalent.
• 24 Hours of documented training every 3 year period per EM385 per paras 2-3.b.b.
• Competent person training as needed.
• Excellent communication skills for effective training and reporting.
• Ability to assess risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Experience with construction management software is a plus.
