Halliday Watkins & Mann P.C are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Compliance Associate to join our dynamic team at a leading mortgage default law firm. As a Compliance Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements within the firm and in client interactions. Your responsibilities will include conducting loan-level reviews, reconciliations, identifying process issues, problem-solving, and providing viable solutions. Additionally, you will be involved in generating reports, validating controls, and performing various ad hoc tasks assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and Compliance Manager.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive reviews and reconciliations of client-specific loan files (foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, litigation, etc.) in both the firm's and client's systems to determine accurate status.
- Identify process issues within loan files and employ problem-solving skills to propose suitable options to overcome them, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Utilize advanced formulas and functions in Microsoft Excel to reconcile data between the firm and client systems.
- Assist in ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the CCO and / or Compliance Manager, demonstrating excellent organizational skills to ensure timely completion.
- Conduct daily and weekly reviews of control reporting, including the creation and review of exception reports.
- Manage time effectively to review daily and weekly reports promptly.
- Generate and prepare weekly and monthly reports for clients, ensuring compliance with recurring reporting deadlines.
- Develop customized reports that meet specific client requirements.
- Utilize client systems to report file status, address issues, place holds, extract reports, and communicate effectively with clients.
- Conduct screening of individuals and companies against exclusionary lists and government databases, ensuring compliance with vendor and employee screening protocols.
- Generate, review, and produce capacity reports to assess resource availability.
- Validate existing controls to ensure their effectiveness and compliance.
