Full-time position available in our 34-bed geriatric inpatient psychiatry unitat Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford, a full service community hospital 8miles north of Boston. The geriatric psychiatry program includes both open andsecure units. On-call coverage is optional. The adult geriatric unit is partof Hallmark Health s comprehensive behavioral health services that includesan adult unit at Melrose Wakefield Hospital, ECT and Community Counselingservices in Malden and Medford. Hallmark Health is an established leader in providing state of the artgeriatric psychiatry services in Massachusetts. Expert geriatric psychiatrists lead multidisciplinary teamsthat help patients reach their optimal level of functioning. Located at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, the Medical-Psychiatric program is thelongest running program of its kind in the state of Massachusetts. TheMedical-Psychiatric inpatient unit specializes in providing evaluation andtreatment of psychiatric disorders in the geriatric population, oftencomplicated by acutechronic medical problems. Common reasons for admissioninclude late-life depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, delirium anddementia-related behavioral disturbances. The program combines the expertiseof psychiatrists, internists, psychiatric and medical nurses, social workersand occupational therapists to create a comprehensive treatment plan. Theteam also utilizes the consultation of medical and surgical subspecialties,neurology, neuropsychology, physical therapy, speech therapy and nutrition.
