SUMMARY
The Programming Finance Intern will play a pivotal role in optimizing programming financial policies and systems in Hallmark Media and have the opportunity to learn about the programming lifecycle from greenlight to production to financial tracking. As the business model is rapidly evolving, the current processes need to evolve as well. This will be a highly visible project to help determine both short-term and long-term solutions. This will be a great introduction to Legal, Production Finance, Accounting, and Finance in a media and entertainment company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deep dive into the financial greenlight lifecycle from development to production/acquisition to premiere and applicable tax rebates.
- Document full sequential lifecycle, contributors and related duties, multiple reporting across all contributing parties, and operational processes.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across various departments to understand production lifecycle and related financial impacts and processes.
- Make recommendations to optimize Programming financial processes and to drive analytically based decision making.
- Enhance Programming financial model structure in Excel/Systems utilized by several groups.
- Recommend efficiencies to streamline how data analytics and reporting is shared to various stakeholders with the goal of minimizing data collection/reporting redundancies.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Rising junior or senior from a four-year university concentrating in Finance, Operations, Accounting, or Economics.
- Intermediate accounting fundamentals and logic skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong interest in film industry.
The hourly rate for this job is $17.27. Hourly rate will take into consideration several factors including location.
