The Territory Supervisor is a part-time position responsible for overseeing a group of Retail Merchandisers within a specific geographic area. These individuals maintain card departments and outposts for everyday and seasonal products, as well as participate in installation activities such as building Hallmark fixtures, moving card departments, installing new stores, store relocations, and card department remodels.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 5-10 Retail Merchandisers, ensuring well-maintained card departments and timely execution of programs.
- Document and manage performance with manager feedback and input.
- Handle retailer concerns, retail execution issues, and retail merchandiser performance issues by working with store management, retail merchandisers, and/or your manager.
- Work typically Monday through Friday during day/early evening hours; occasional weekend work may be required during major holiday periods.
Department Remodels and Resets
- Prepare, direct, and follow-up on minor installations involving resetting product, building fixtures, and merchandising product.
- Lead or participate in major installations when business exceptions require additional support, potentially involving moving the card department, building fixtures, and merchandising product.
A successful Territory Supervisor must be a strong leader who can inspire, empower, and inform their team. They should be able to give constructive feedback, coaching, and support, work independently with minimal supervision, resolve conflicts at store level and within the team, motivate individuals both in person and remotely, follow through on commitments, lead by example in implementing company best practices, effectively manage change, delegate tasks, identify and solve problems, stay organized, and build strong customer relationships.
This role requires a high level of energy and a sense of urgency due to its physically demanding nature. You will be working on the selling floor and in back stockrooms, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds throughout the workday and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Additionally, you may need to stoop, squat, walk, and stand frequently, climb stairs, and use step ladders.
