POSTION SUMMARY
As a Sr. Cost Accountant, you will perform and lead a variety of financial management and reporting responsibilities. You will work directly with the Director of Manufacturing and the company’s Global Controller. Responsible for all accounting processes related to the month-end facility close process. Includes production order processing, inventory provisions, cost center allocations, accruals, and required reconciliations. This role will be based at our Bedford Park location.
This is a dynamic hands-on position that allows you to influence and support different initiatives. You will be the lead finance contact at the plant level supported by an enterprise group accounting team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain updated inventory costs for the four Hallstar U.S. locations
- Develop costing of new products to support the Hallstar Business Managers
- Analyze material manufacturing and purchasing variances to lower inventory costs and improve production processes.
- Create and distribute various inventory reports (cycle count accuracy, budget vs actual activity, variance and absorption analysis). Ensure understanding of results.
- Work with other Hallstar international locations to ensure common processes

- Maintain the one-day close process
- Close material inventory ledger and complete cost allocation jobs within the ERP
- Complete inventory related monthly reconciliations timely.
- Analyze inventory reserves and adjust as needed
- Support external auditor requests
- Lead the annual standard cost setting process and work with Operations to develop annual manufacturing plans that will be used to establish the labor rates and variable and fixed overhead rates.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Seven to ten years accounting experience and at least 5 years of cost accounting experience including period closing.
- College degree required
- Knowledge of SAP preferred
- Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP),
- Basic Microsoft excel skills (Pivot tables, vlookups, etc)

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
