What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Administrator position at Halma Holdings Inc.?
The Payroll Administrator will:
- Ensure multiple US company payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Check non-exempt personnel time sheets utilizing an electronic time and attendance software product for compliance with policy, state and regulatory requirements.
- Review computed wages and correct errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings. Ensure that all changes to payroll are processed correctly.
- Audit new hire entries for accuracy in the payroll and time and attendance system.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files, including reconciliation of payroll account
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assists in maintenance of retirement plan deductions and reconciliation of bi-weekly 401(k) files
- Review and audit master file and pay data entries, YTD totals, and file amendments.
- Prepare various standard and ad hoc reports and queries for HR and Payroll
- Will handle all garnishments, miscellaneous deductions, and vacation/sick accruals.
- Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding various payroll and HR matters.
- Process off cycle as required
- Assist with HR/Benefits projects and programs as assigned
- Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- CPP certification strongly preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience with payroll processing using an online system to process
- Using UltiPro in a payroll capacity strongly preferred
- Knowledge of commonly used payroll practices and state laws, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Multi-state and/or multi-unit experience strongly preferred
- Ability to multi-task, use personal judgment, utilize strong decision making, analytical and follow-up skills
- Proficient with personal computers and contemporary software applications (MS Office Suite, Internet Explorer, etc.)
- Compelling interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written), strong ability to influence and build rapport
- Rapid learner with the ability to grasp concepts and protocols
- Must maintain a high attention to detail
