The Engineering Technician will be part of a diverse team geared to tackle a wide variety of challenges, making sure that our processes, procedures, and tooling are utilizing the most up to date technology. As an Engineering Technician, you will perform supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, document and assemble tools and fixtures.
- Implement changes to assembly and test procedures.
- Perform experiments to find design and process improvements.
- Manage small projects as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Perform time studies.
- Seek out and fix errors in documentation and other quality systems.
- Follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions.
- Follow established Quality System procedures, policies, guidelines. Work in accordance with current FDA, ISO regulations.
- Write/review manufacturing documentation (SOPs and MPMs).
- Review, update, and maintain CAD drawings per company procedure.
- Document nonconformances in parts and processes and participate in subsequent dispositions and corrective/preventative actions.
- Other duties as required and assigned.
- Associates degree in an engineering discipline, mechanical or manufacturing background preferred, and/or 5 years’ experience as a technician or hands on engineer.
- Experience with medical devices or other devices a plus. Small precision machined parts preferred.
- Experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
- Hands-on experience in maintaining tools, equipment, and fixtures.
- Experience with designing tools/fixtures a plus.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
- Experience using general tools and equipment (i.e., hand tools, voltmeter, measuring tools, etc.).
- Experience with machining, and other manufacturing methods a plus.
- Effective oral/written communication skills and critical thinking skills.
- Good decision making, troubleshooting, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking is a must.
- Technical writing skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel).
