Service Inspection & Testing Manager

We are seeking an experienced Service Inspection & Testing Manager to lead our service department. Must have a strong background in fire alarm and sprinkler service. You will be responsible for all aspects of inspection and testing of sprinkler systems, backflow preventers, alarm systems, and the subsequent service repairs as identified, quoted, and approved for repair.

Responsibilities

• Manage field service activities, including but not limited to: scheduling, dispatching, quoting, service requests, and warranty claim review and approval.
• Conduct routine inspections of fire sprinkler systems, alarm systems, and backflow assemblies.
• Measure and report resource utilization and profitability of service activities.
• Review quoted service work and contracts, ensuring accuracy.
• Provide training to service technicians.
• Manage and provide support for emergency and after-hours service work.
• Diagnose issues with alarm systems using mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Collaborate with clients to assess their needs and provide recommendations for solutions.
• Ensure compliance with local codes and regulations regarding fire safety.
• Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a service manager or similar role in the fire protection industry.
• NICET certification in both fire alarm and water based ITM
• Minimum 5 years experience in fire protection
• Backflow inspection & testing certified
• Strong mechanical knowledge in both fire sprinkler and alarm systems.
• Thorough understanding of NFPA 25 code requirements
• Ability to detect issues quickly and efficiently in complex systems.
• Proficient in reading blueprints.
• Experience with fire pumps and special hazards.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to lead and grow a team.
• Experience in sales is advantageous but not required.
• Familiarity with kitchen hoods is a plus.
