Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in acquisitions, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), tax-related matters, and financial forecasting. This role is critical to supporting Halo Land Management’s financial operations and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Acquisitions:
- Lead the financial due diligence process for acquisitions, including analyzing financial statements, assessing risks, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and recommendations during the acquisition process.
- Assist in the integration of acquired entities, ensuring seamless financial and operational alignment.
RFP Management:
- Collaborate with the business development and project management teams to prepare and review financial components of RFPs.
- Ensure that all financial proposals are accurate, competitive, and align with the company’s financial strategies and goals.
- Monitor and report on the financial performance of awarded contracts, ensuring adherence to budget and forecasted outcomes.
Tax Compliance & Planning:
- Oversee the company’s tax planning and compliance, including federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Work with external tax advisors to ensure all filings are accurate and timely.
- Develop strategies to optimize tax efficiency and manage potential tax risks.
Financial Reporting, Forecasting & Analysis:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Conduct financial forecasting, variance analysis, and provide insights to senior management to support decision-making.
- Assist in the development of the annual budget and long-term financial planning, incorporating detailed forecasting to guide business strategy.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting and processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as all relevant regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on acquisitions, RFPs, tax matters, and financial forecasting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
